[ maria + travis | the half moone ]

Posted in: Weddings

Back when I first shared my new side hustle as a wedding coordinator, Maria was one of the first brides to contact me. Maria and I swam for ODAC together when we were in high school and tended to stick together on a lot of things such as being in the ‘not super fast’ lane, turning around early on our long Powhatan runs, and just generally not being as hardcore as everyone else. She has always been so sweet and genuine and makes you immediately feel like a friend. This is one of the many reasons I immediately jumped at the opportunity to help make her wedding the perfect event!

Maria and Travis got married on New Year’s Eve at the Half Moone in Norfolk, and let me tell you, they put on quite the party! From an upbeat Father-Daughter dance, to tons of party hats and noise makers, and ending with a midnight countdown, the entire celebration was filled with joy and excitement. Of course, Maria and Travis were so smitten with each other the entire time. It was very easy to see how happy they make each other and how that will easily carry on as they settle into married life at home in Durham. I have never seen a couple who was so thoughtful in making sure everyone was enjoying themselves throughout the night, all guests and vendors included. Thank you, Maria and Travis, for trusting me with your big day! Congratulations!
