As I’m sitting here uploading these images, I still cannot believe this wedding is over. I still remember the first time I met with Carter and heard her thoughts for her wedding over a glass of wine at Taste. I knew from that moment that I would absolutely love the Garris family and that Carter and Cary’s wedding would be nothing short of stunning. Carter knew that she wanted everything to be very clean and classic – all white everything with pops of greenery. We added in a black and white dance floor to make a statement and James Molloy created beautiful hanging installments for the tent.
The week of the wedding, storms were in the forecast so we made the call to add a second tent to make sure all of their guests had plenty of room and that the bars and food were sheltered. Then Saturday came and it looked like we were going to be fine. All of our most reliable weather apps showed that the radar was clear and it would be a beautiful day. I arrived at the Hermitage for set-up and the skies were blue and sunny… until the wedding party arrived for the first look and portraits. As soon as the photographers got Cary in place, the skies opened up and it was a full-on monsoon! Luckily, we had the absolute best team of vendors who were completely prepared and a wedding party who was easy-going and flexible.
I can confidently say that although is poured, it definitely didn’t rain on their parade! These two families and their friends sure know how to have a good time. The food was passed, the drinks were poured, and the dance floor was packed the entire night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a large group of people have such a fun time, it was a true celebration! Enjoy a peek into their day, thanks to Erika Mills Photography, below!
