Cayla and JT said their I Dos on the most perfect July day that felt like early spring in Norfolk. JT was recently commissioned into the Navy, following in the footsteps of his father, so the base was the perfect place for them to begin their marriage. Neither of them lived locally, so I didn’t even meet them until the week of their wedding, but I could tell how incredible they were from the first time we spoke on the phone. I love that the two of them didn’t get caught up in the Pinterest world or the pressure of the day – they focused on the true meaning of marriage and entering into a covenant with God, and as long as everything honored that, they were happy!
Their ceremony was so personal, from the charge given to Cayla and JT by their pastor, to the foot washing ceremony to show their devotion to each other like Jesus for his disciples, to the song sang by JT’s sisters. You could feel the love and emotion in the chapel! Don’t be fooled though, this group also knew how to have a good time! The late-night gelato was a hit and the dance floor was packed until the last minute. After their guests left, Cayla and JT had a private last dance to soak it all in, then headed off to spend some time together on their honeymoon.
Congratulations Cayla and JT, we wish you all the happiness in the world!
